From hot water to slippery floors: why sex in the shower is not for everyone

1. Water can wash away natural lubrication
For this reason, gynecologists are not enthusiastic about the idea of any sex in water - be it the sea, pool, bath or shower. And if you do this in the bathroom, there is a great temptation to use fragrant soap, shampoo, shower gel, etc. instead of lubricant - which is even worse. Detergents can cause dryness and irritation of the mucous membranes of both you and your partner. When penetrating “dry”, microcracks form, allowing access for harmful bacteria. This risks vaginitis and urinary tract infections.

2. Some people forget that they can easily get pregnant during sex in the bathroom.
Do you think that the water will wash everything away, and if you do it while standing, then gravity will also help? No matter how it is. Sperm are surprisingly resilient; they are able to survive for several more days in the female reproductive system. Don't rely on soap and water as a form of contraception.

3. Slips and falls aren't the only ways you can get hurt during shower sex.
Since this, frankly, is not very comfortable, you have to invent elaborate poses. By performing them, you risk getting not only sprains and bruises. The most interesting part of your body can be at an unnatural angle and, as a result, with the slightest awkward movement, get very unpleasant damage (brrr!).

4. The danger of STDs in the process of joint washing with the transition to sexual pleasure remains - and even increases
Cleanliness does not mean sterility. Water does not destroy the pathogens of gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, condyloma, HIV and other less-sexual “surprises”. And it only opens the gates for them for the reasons described in paragraph 2.

5. Condoms become less effective in the shower.
Of course, bad protection is better than no protection. But in water there is no need to rely on condoms as a means of protection against pregnancy and infections. It is very likely that the condom will simply slip off. In addition, chlorinated water, oil or bubble baths can damage latex.

In a word, if you decide to undertake this extremely dangerous undertaking, equip the bathroom with anti-slip mats and handrails, and most importantly, provide yourself with a reliable and trusted lover on whom you can rely (or fall softly).
