We are talking about the site DeepSukebe, which is gaining popularity among the British. The site was launched last year; he promises to "show the truth behind the clothes" and "make all men's dreams come true."

At the same time, the site was made specifically for the “nudity” of women - if you process a man’s photo on it, then the output image will be female genitals.

The owners of the site are unknown. According to one analyst, in June alone the site was visited about five million times, and among the women “undressed” by it (the processed photos are actively shared on social networks) there are celebrities and star athletes.

Maria Miller, a member of the Conservative Party and former Minister of Culture in the government of David Cameron, spoke in favor of banning the site.

She has spent the last six years fighting so-called “revenge porn,” or the dissemination of intimate photos and videos without the consent of the person involved. This phenomenon is so named because most often such posts are posted to take revenge on former lovers or spouses.

In an interview with the BBC, Miller said that legislation in this area needs to be changed - the distribution of images without the consent of the model should be recognized as a sexual crime.

“This will reflect the fact that such pictures can seriously ruin a person’s life,” she says.

The ban is set to be enshrined in an overall internet safety bill that will affect many aspects of British online life.

Human rights organization CEASE says legislation on fake pornography in Britain is currently unclear.

“Technologies created to objectify and humiliate women should be banned, and porn sites that profit from the distribution of such images should be required to block their downloads,” says the head of the NGO, Vanessa Morse.

Currently, the responsibility for deleting such images and videos lies with the people filmed in them, which is simply unfair, she says.

As such, neural network stripping tools are nothing new, and Deepsukebe is far from the only such site.

In 2019, the DeepNude service was launched, also based on AI, but the developers were forced to close it due to a scandal.

Many of the similar services that exist today use the DeepNude source code, which the site developers have made open and available to everyone.

The BBC spoke to the developer of one of the many online apps for "naked" women in photos. He called himself "Ivan Bravo".

Bravo acknowledges that such products are unethical, but he argues that it is because of the way they are now used that they have begun to be marketed as "undress your friends."

"But our world is not perfect, and people throughout history have tried to do something similar. It was just a matter of time before this technology appeared," he says

Bravo, however, is confused by the fact that only women can be “undressed”. He sees this as a manifestation of sexism.

“Personally, I would like there to be a version with men and even anime characters so that people can experiment and enjoy this adult entertainment,” he says.

“The main goal here is to understand how we can apply these technologies legally and ethically,” Bravo adds.
