Watching porn as a child led to nightmares and problems in sexual relationships, the singer said on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show.

Stern asked Eilish about pornography, as the topic is mentioned in the song "Male Fantasy" from her new album, Happier Than Ever. In the ballad, a girl sings about being left at home alone and watching porn to distract herself from her worries about a broken relationship.

Billie Eilish is the youngest singer to win a Grammy.

"To be honest, I watched a lot, a lot of porn. I think it really destroyed my brain and I feel incredibly drained by the amount of porn I saw," she admitted.

She said that as a child she did not understand that she was watching something wrong, and thought that people have sex exactly as it happens in porn films.

“Because of this, when I started having sex, I didn’t say no to things that it would be better not to do,” says the singer.

Billie Eilish said she now considers porn a shame

She says the availability of pornography is a real problem because porn seriously distorts the understanding of what is normal during sex, including what is consensual.

This view is shared by child welfare experts, including Unicef. They agree that the effects of pornography on children and adolescents can be very harmful.

Pornography, which is often accompanied by aggression towards women, can lead children to consider this behavior normal in intimate relationships.
