Smell plays a huge role in how people are attracted to each other, as it can trigger strong emotional and physiological reactions.
Our sense of smell is directly connected to the limbic system of the brain, which is responsible for emotions, memory and behavior. Therefore, our partner's scent can evoke a variety of feelings and associations in us, and influence who we find sexually attractive.
Each person has their own natural scent, which is influenced by genetics, nutrients and lifestyle. This individual scent can be attractive to other people and play an important role in mate selection.
Additionally, our own sense of smell can influence who we find sexually attractive, as we may like the scent of someone who blends well with our own scent.
Sometimes the process of choosing a partner can be subconscious, and we can be drawn to the smell at the level of instincts and intuition. This may explain why we feel strong sexual attraction to some people, even though they don't meet beauty standards or have other traits that we would normally be attracted to.
