Addressing Privacy Concerns
In a unique urban initiative, Swiss authorities have announced plans to install discreet booths for drivers engaging with sex workers in their vehicles. The move aims to address concerns raised by citizens regarding the lack of privacy and public decency.
The Concept of Sex Booths
These booths, equipped with high opaque barriers, are designed to offer a level of privacy for individuals engaging in sexual activities within their cars. Rather than promoting such behavior, the booths intend to shield passersby from witnessing these activities on the streets of Zurich.
Response to Public Complaints
The decision to introduce these sex booths came following numerous complaints lodged with the Zurich police. Residents expressed their discomfort with drivers engaging in sexual activities with prostitutes inside their cars, disregarding the presence of pedestrians nearby.
Legal Framework
Prostitution in Switzerland is not illegal. Sex workers operate within a legal framework, registered and monitored by law enforcement, medical services, and tax authorities. Most of these workers come from various countries, including South America, Romania, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Russia, among others.
