Using a condom incorrectly can significantly reduce its protective properties, defeating its purpose as a barrier contraceptive. From storing them improperly to wearing them inside out, these errors can compromise the condom’s effectiveness.

Improper Storage Can Cause Damage
Storing condoms in a wallet or jeans pocket might seem convenient, but it's detrimental. Constant friction with other items can damage the condom, rendering it less effective. It's best to keep condoms in a dark, dry place where they won’t experience friction, like a bedside table.

Ignoring Expiry Dates
Using an expired condom is a big no-no. Even if it’s the last one left at home, the material deteriorates over time, reducing its reliability.

Putting it On Inside Out
Ensuring the rolled edges are at the bottom, unrolling the condom along the entire length of the penis is crucial. Don’t reverse-roll it and then try to put it on. Rolling it down to the base ensures it adheres and stays secure, preventing slippage.
