Myths and Reality: Spontaneous vs. Planned Sex

Canadian sexologists conducted a study that revealed interesting aspects regarding preferences in one's sexual life. The study included 303 single individuals and 102 couples who participated in surveys and maintained a diary of their sexual activities for 21 days. The first myth debunked by the research was related to the preference for spontaneous sex. The majority believed that unpredictability added a special dimension of passion and excitement. However, other participants in the study noted that planned sex could also be quite captivating due to the anticipation it generated through the act of planning.

Sexologists' Recommendations: Planning in Intimate Relationships

Researchers emphasized that during the observation of couples' sexual experiences over three weeks, satisfaction was not influenced by whether they perceived sex as spontaneous or planned. This discovery offers intriguing recommendations for long-term relationships. They suggest that couples introduce an element of planning into their intimate life. An analogy with travel was provided for better understanding: a well-planned vacation can bring more pleasure than spontaneous trips. Similarly, planning intimate moments can diversify one's sexual life and strengthen the intimacy in relationships.

These studies shed new light on the importance of discussing and planning sexual activity within relationships, emphasizing that both spontaneous and planned sex can bring joy and satisfaction in one's intimate life.
