A study by an Italian sexologist found that couples who have a TV in the bedroom have sex twice as often as those who don't.

"If there is no TV, the frequency (of sexual intercourse) doubles," said Serenella Salomoni, whose team of psychologists interviewed 523 Italian couples to see if television affected their sex lives.

Italians who don't have a TV in the bedroom have sex an average of twice a week or eight times a month. Those who did consume their love only four times a month, the researchers found.

For people over the age of 50, the difference is even more dramatic – from an average of seven sexual acts a month without a TV, the figure drops to 1.5 when there is one.

The study shows that some TV shows interfere more with sexual desire than others. Violent movies stopped the drive in half of the couples studied, while reality shows cooled the passions of a third.

Conclusion - make love... Don't watch TV
