The study, which tested four popular types of sex toys for wear and the presence of phthalates, revealed alarming results. All the examined samples contained phthalates - chemical substances added to plastic to make it flexible and durable. It is crucial to note that these phthalates can pose a serious threat to health.

Phthalates, when they enter the body, can have harmful effects on health. Many experts associate the presence of phthalates with the risk of oncology, infertility, and even congenital fetal defects. They can enter the bloodstream through contact with the genitals and then spread throughout the body, reaching sensitive areas such as the brain, lungs, and even the placenta in pregnant women.

This study places serious demands on the transparency and safety of sex toy manufacturers. Uncontrolled use of such products can lead to undesirable health consequences. Researchers call for stricter control over the sex toy manufacturing industry and consider classifying them as medical devices, implying strict quality and safety standards.

The results of the study allow for several interesting observations. In particular, it was found that anal toys showed the highest degree of wear and the presence of phthalates. They were followed by beads, a double vibrator, and an external vibrator, which, despite their questionable composition, turned out to be the safest among the examined samples.

This raises questions about the choice of sex toys and the importance of paying attention to their composition and quality. It is essential to remember that, despite all the allure of sex toys, they must be safe for health. Researchers also noted that one of the manufacturers even used a statement of the absence of phthalates in the advertising of their product, emphasizing the need for stricter supervision of this industry.
