Narva Planetarium in a New Light: From Stars to Sex Shops

In the city of Narva, Estonia, recent news has stirred up society and sparked lively discussions. An establishment that was once a celebrated attraction for residents and tourists - the planetarium - is facing an uncertain future. According to rumors, the place where people used to learn about stars and the cosmos may be replaced by a sex shop.

Journey to the Stars: From Planetarium to Sex Shop

The Narva planetarium was a symbol of cultural and educational entertainment. It was created and supported by Vladimir Goman, an entrepreneur from Tallinn and the founder of the People's Observatory. He invested almost all of his funds in this fascinating place where people could enjoy captivating shows about space.

However, this planetarium now stands at a crossroads, as Vladimir Goman has decided to relocate it to the capital, Tallinn, in search of new opportunities. This decision has raised some concerns among local residents and planetarium enthusiasts who fear losing access to captivating celestial adventures.

A Sexual Twist: Sex Shop in the Planetarium?

The most unexpected part of this story is the rumors that a sex shop may open in place of the planetarium. Owners of an intimate goods store have expressed interest in the space within the Astri shopping center where the planetarium was located. However, as of now, an official agreement has not been signed, and entrepreneurs interested in opening a sex shop are exploring other options.

City Development: Planetarium or Something Else?

However, despite all the rumors and uncertainty, the question remains: what will take the place of the planetarium if the sex shop does not occupy the premises? Tarmo Kleimann, head of the Astri Group's Narva and Ida-Virumaa division, acknowledges that no decision has been made yet because the surface of the planetarium has not been vacated, and dismantling will take time.

It is also worth noting that the planetarium ceased its operations in Narva in May. This was due to the technical equipment's dependence on Russia, and political circumstances severed ties with Russia. However, the number of visitors was not as high as expected.

Public Opinion: Residents Express Their Views

Among the comments on this news, some residents express their outrage over the planetarium leaving the city. They emphasize the importance of cultural and educational institutions in Narva and Ida-Virumaa. One of the comments reads as follows: "Without this planetarium, 'Astri' is no longer 'Astri.' Please leave cultural and educational complexes in Narva and Ida-Virumaa."

Challenges and Prospects

Vladimir Goman confirmed that many Narva residents had complained about the quality of the shows presented at the planetarium. However, the quality of shows depends directly on their cost, and high-quality programs can be expensive. To support such programs, they must be profitable.

The dismantling of the planetarium has already begun, and it is a complex task. The projector and sound equipment have been removed, but disassembling the walls, framework, and vacuum screen presents certain difficulties.

Future Plans

At present, Vladimir Goman has not yet found a suitable location in Tallinn where the planetarium can be relocated. However, once a suitable option is found, he hopes the planetarium will resume its operations. He understands that for success, this place must attract visitors.
