"Spit or Swallow" is the stern ultimatum placed before people who are taking up the art of oral sex for a man for the first time. There is little talk about giving, much less about what happens to the giver after the orgasm of the man, but we are used to thinking that some spit and others swallow. Is that really the case?

Men, the taste of sperm is not like vanilla ice cream, you know. And yet, is the taste the reason to spit? Do people really take ejaculate in their mouth and then spit it out because they don't like the taste? However, the taste buds are on the tongue, not in the throat, that is, spitting does not actually save the taste of liquid. It could even make it worse. Maybe no one spits after trying once - like here we exclude spitting as part of visual stimulation, where it can then lick back. That is, givers are not so much divided into "spitting and swallowing," but rather into those who allow it to end up in their mouths and those who allow it to end up in another place, away from their tongue.

The pros of cumming in the mouth

Male ejaculate contains about 5000,100 milligrams of protein per <> milliliters, as well as a fairly healthy dose of zinc and small amounts of vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. However, in the ejaculate of an orgasm, these amounts are negligible. It's obviously better to get your daily dose of these nutrients from the actual food, but a little extra nourishment here and there isn't a bad thing. At the very least, it won't hurt you.

In addition to its nutritional content, human sperm also contains an antioxidant called spermidine, which has been shown to slow down the aging process in cells. This effect has been attributed to spermidine's ability to regulate the cell recycling process known as autophagy, although whether such a benefit can be achieved by oral sex seems unlikely.

The Pros of Cumming Out of the Mouth

For all people spitting or avoiding cumming in their mouths, be sure that by sacrificing all of the above, you can significantly reduce the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease such as HIV, herpes or hepatitis. Of course, such diseases can still be transmitted even without swallowing, and infection is much more likely to occur if the person performing oral sex has a cut or an open wound in or around their mouth.

Avoiding in the mouth may also be necessary for those suffering from an allergy to ejaculate, known as human seminal plasma hypersensitivity (HSP). Caused by certain prostate-derived proteins, HSP hypersensitivity can cause a number of local and systemic symptoms and can make unprotected sex impossible. Fortunately, however, the condition is very rare and should not worry the majority of people!

Why does sperm taste bad?

As we said, sperm in general is not the most delicious thing in the world, and most people tolerate it to please their partner.

Several fluids are combined with sperm to form seminal fluid. Each of these fluids adds different chemicals, each affecting the taste of sperm. Ergothioneine, an antioxidant that normally develops in mushrooms, is also present in mushrooms and can give it a taste similar to raw mushrooms. It also contains fructose, a type of sugar that helps nourish sperm and can give it a slightly sweet taste. Among other ingredients are amino acids, citric acid, phosphorus, zinc, calcium, sodium and various enzymes.

The taste of sperm varies from person to person. Most people describe taste as a combination of:

  • bitter or salty because it is alkaline;
  • sweet, because of the sugar content;
  • metallic, because of minerals and vitamins;

Sperm also contains a lot of water, which dilutes the smell. Many people do not notice a smell at all. When it happens, they describe a musk, salty or slightly metallic smell.

However, men can, to some extent, influence how their ejaculate tastes, mostly by limiting their intake of certain foods or substances.

Does diet affect the taste of sperm?

Foods that produce a strong odor, such as broccoli and cauliflower, can degrade the taste or smell of sperm. Very fatty meat also makes it bitter. If a man notices that a particular food changes his body odor, it can also change the smell and taste of his sperm.

Cigarettes worsen the taste of sperm 100% - they make it bitter. It usually takes about a week without nicotine intake to restore the natural taste of seminal fluid.

Fruits, such as citrus fruits and pineapple, are thought to improve sperm taste in some people.

Health problems in a man who tries sperm can also affect its taste. Medical conditions that can affect the body's taste buds include:

  • respiratory infections
  • Middle ear infections
  • problems with dental health
  • Infections in the mouth or gums
  • recent surgery on the mouth, nose or face
  • head or spinal cord injuries
  • some medical treatments, including radiation therapy and some antibiotics
  • exposure to chemicals, such as some pesticides

Oral sex is a common sexual act that many people find very pleasurable. Studies show that 85.4% of men and 83.2% of women have had oral sex at least once in their lives. But to enjoy this experience, you don't necessarily have to taste sperm.

People who worry about the taste or aroma of male ejaculate can try oral sex and stop shortly before their partner ejaculates, then manually stimulate their penis to orgasm, or use flavored condoms.

These practices can help people with new sexual partners or people who feel uncomfortable with ejaculate to be more confident and maintain healthy sexual relationships that develop in an appropriate rhythm.
