The decline in sexual activity among young people, particularly in males aged 18-24, has raised concerns among researchers and sparked discussions about the reasons behind this phenomenon. Sexual Alpha conducted a survey among its clients and concluded that young individuals are engaging in sex less frequently, and this trend is attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and the influence of the Internet.

Indeed, it is a natural process for people to become less sexually active as they age.

However, the observed decline in sexual activity among young people, especially young men, is a matter of interest and concern. The survey conducted by Sexual Alpha revealed that approximately one-third of young men aged 18-24 reported no sexual activity in the past year.

Researchers attribute this trend to various factors. Firstly, the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting self-isolation measures have restricted social interactions and the ability to meet with partners. This has created significant challenges for young people who are actively exploring their sexuality and building intimate relationships. The closure of bars, clubs, and other social venues has also reduced opportunities for meeting new people.

Secondly, the development of the Internet and the accessibility of online platforms for dating and maintaining intimate relationships have become an alternative for young people. It has become easier for individuals to find partners in the virtual world, which, on one hand, helps maintain social connections but, on the other hand, may decrease the motivation for real-life encounters. This factor has had an impact on the level of sexual activity.

Experts have also identified the optimal age for the highest sexual activity, which is typically between 25 and 29 years.

During this period, many young people reported having engaged in at least one sexual act. This emphasizes the significance of age-related factors in sexual activity.

It is important to note that sexuality is an individual and multifaceted aspect of human life, and the absence of sexual activity during a particular period does not always indicate a problem. Nevertheless, the decrease in sexual activity among young people due to various factors may be the subject of further research and discussions.

The decline in sexual activity among young people and its connection to the influence of the Internet and other factors raises important questions about the health and well-being of the younger generation. Further research and discussions in this field may help gain a deeper understanding of this trend and find ways to support the sexual health and well-being of young people.
